studying this unit you will be able to:

and types of information sources necessary for your particular subject matter, organize your materials so that
they are a vital part of your speech and help you prepare the outline, evaluate different types of
sources.
When you prepare for your
classes or assignments at work, where do you look first for materials? What other sources can you name?
Which sources do you consider trustworthy?
On average, how much of your work is based on
personal knowledge and how much on other sources of information?
The three criteria for evaluating the soundness of research materials that you find on the internet (according to www.coursehero.com ) are:
Authorship
Sponsorship
Recency
When looking at the internet
webpages, sometimes you cannot find the name of the author of a specific
article. It may be written by a freelance writer or by a member of staff. In
such a situation, a sponsoring organization is responsible for the content of
the webpage.
